Rugby Connect is a platform built and designed to bridge the gap between the “unknowns” and the “knowns”. Every journey starts with a connection, and we want to make that possible for rugby players of all kinds. At RugbyConnect we aim to create a system that will benefit universities, clubs, unions, and coaches and provide the players themselves, with the opportunity to be seen and connect with each other.
South African rugby currently operates within a ruthless environment of agents and teams vying for the signatures of a small pool of players from an early age. This is how they find and get contracted to various opportunities around the country.
What if you don't have an agent? How do you find an opportunity to play rugby elsewhere? How do you get noticed as a female rugby player in what is still the early stages of development? Maybe you are a late bloomer or even just want to study whilst playing rugby, then this is the platform for you.
Rugby Connect can solve many of these problems. By filtering, identifying, and connecting with a larger pool of available players it could open the door to future superstars and hidden gems that just need a platform to be seen!
Rugby Connect has the vision to build the largest database of rugby talent in South Africa. We want to build a platform for all players, coaches, agents and teams, to be seen and connect with each other. The aim is to grow the Men’s and Women’s game as much as possible, and provide them with opportunities that may not have previously existed. This will in turn develop the player pool for both, and reach a far wider market than ever before.
Furthermore, it will result in all universities, clubs, unions, coaches and players having access to the same data in real time. We want to ensure that someone sitting in Alice or Mthatha has the same access to information as a person sitting in Pretoria or Johannesburg. That is the RugbyConnect vision, and that is how we will help grow the game we love.
